Meritor extends PlatinumShield covering to lined aftermarket brakes

Meritor has announced it has made its Aftermarket Brakes PlatinumShield coating II available in coated brake parts.

The special coating that prevents rustjacking be available in all new brake pads doubled except for friction materials and EG2 EG, the company said.

"Our customers in the secondary Aftermarket Brakes continued to insist that we make this revolutionary product available in innovative new shoes, the shoes not only reformed," said Tim Bauer, Director of undercarriage products, Meritor Aftermarket. Meritor said it will not provide unlined brake shoes on the market with PlatinumShield II. Unlined brake shoes continue to be available in black e-coat paint only.
